Dear friends! I have good news for you - there is a new software for CG drawing called "Paintstorm Studio".
As you may have noticed, I almost haven’t posted any pictures for the last two years. And the reason for that is as follows: all this time I was busy creating my own software for painting

Yes, when once again, I was dissatisfied with the functionality of the software I was using, I suddenly remembered that in fact I am a programmer by education, so I decided to try to create my own software. It was an absolutely crazy idea, because, as I have heard, software development is thousands of dollars to manage and dozens of programmers to involve. However, it seemed to me that it's not very difficult (naive).

At first, it was just interesting (like how to solve puzzles or playing chess). Then I really became interested in and, as usual, it turned out to be something like "so much already done – nowhere to retreat!" :)

So, I have done a tremendous amount of work (thousands of hours - almost all of my free time I was spending on programming) And now, two years later, my software is finally ready.

It's called Paintstorm Studio. Please visit www.paintstormstudio.com You can download and try drawing.
You may now want to ask me: Why is Paintstorm the software to pay for? There are many of free of charge programms from reputable companies. Why should you need to buy this software from an unknown developer?

Indeed, at first I wanted to do Paintstorm free of charge, when decided to create a small utility for personal use, that collects all of my favorite features from all the programs I have been used to and combines them into one, but at some point the project has grown into something bigger and more important, and I began to realize that Paintstorm is really good and convenient.
Of course, it may be be missing some tools and filters for image processing, and it has little drawbacks. Paintstorm, though, is all about brush drawing and I tried to make it the maximum quality. Besides, Paintstorm studio has several unique features you won’t find anywhere else.

I would be really thankful and happy if you could do me a favor and tell your friends about Paintstorm. Even if you do are not very interested and you are totally happy with about current painting software, perhaps your artist friends will find Paintstorm helpful. After all, I am not Adobe, and I do not have millions on advertising.
I created it exactly for you, for artists, so you are the only ones to try Paintstorm, tell your friends, if you like. Hopefully other people will also get to know about it.

Describe issue with more details and also point out what version do you use: win/mac/ios?

I downloaded the latest version, 2.10, and I use windows. As soon as I open the app and try to move my mouse within the workspace, it lags a ton and I have to wait a second or two for it update its position to where I moved it to. Also, the windows that automatically appear when the app is opened, creep towards where they're supposed to be. It's like watching a cartoon one frame at a time. I checked my system, I have all the requirements. If there isn't a fix for this version, would an older version work better?

I don't know if I'll get an answer here, but I was wondering if I would have to buy two licenses for Paintstorm Studio if I wanted to use this on Mac, but then eventually move onto Windows. Sorry if you saw this question on your website already, I just want an answer before the Black Friday sale ends. Thank you in advance! c:

Do you use Wacom wheel and buttons? Some version of Wacom drivers has a bug that wheel starts to slow movement. Or what kind of lags do you mean?

i use wacom intuous pen and touch. when updated to new paintstorm version , my brush lags. like your mouse thing lags when your computer is slow. it still detect it but lags really hard makes it hard to draw. so my solution was to revert back to previous paintstorm version before

do you use wheel and button on your wacom tablet? Try to launch Paintstorm first after Windows restart and draw something, is it lagging?

Omg, paintstorm was made by one person??? This just adds an entirely new level of respect XD.
I managed to break my demo and need to reinstall it (I don't think it's an actual program bug, my computer is just freaking out), I'm stuck on the interface color tool. Forever. Reloaded the program, still stuck on it and can't fully open it because of that

Try to delete "Documents/Paintstorm studio" folder manually and restart.

That probably would have worked, and I probably should have thought of that, rip me. I ended up uninstalling it and putting it back, which worked fine. Thank you!

In order to use this software on the MAC, what hardware is required to use a touch sensitive pen? I think it works wonderfully on the ipad pro with the apple pen, but too difficult to use with my mouse.

the better tablets are the Wacom tablets, but also the most expensive. You should search some articles like "how to choose graphic tablet" google or youtube

Wow! I was searching forums today re: "Artrage vs Painter" just a little while ago, and a poster mentioned "Paintstorm Studio" as one of his favorite apps.  I looked it up and it looks fantastic and just right for me.  I like the look of the interface and of course the dynamic brushes.  I have several painting apps already, but Paintstorm Studio seems to combine features that I like from several of those and add some new tricks of its own.

It's amazing that you charge so little for it, but I'm sure that price is much appreciated by many younger artists who don't have much money to spare.

Anyway, I am very glad to have found this. I have just bought a license and I will certainly spread the word to my friends.

Thank you and best wishes!

Wait you MADE this??? Lol I remember seeing some of your paintings a couple weeks ago, so I did get the trial. It kinda crashed on me for being too slow at saving o-o ... did seem like a trial thing. So with the Black Friday deal I'm glad to have added Paintstorm to my tool set xD I'm yet to master it but I do see a lot of promise. Probs will use it for my painting needs as Clip Studio seems to be best at crisp lineart and manga rather than painted landscapes. Or maybe that's just my inexperience xD but as I said last time, I really like the feel this program is capable of. It's sort of soothing. I do hope to see more Paintstorm works, see how different artists make use of it

Somehow this ended up in my email this morning so I had a quick look and was impressed enough to buy it site unseen. The cost for two licenses was very reasonable so I went with that option. Looking forward to downloading it and trying it out this evening! :)

I downloaded it today and I'm so in love with it. I'm so going to buy it, it's definitely worth all the money.

Though I'm still trying to figure out how to change the workspace's colors? (like in the video at 2:24)

I got this at the "regular" price of $29.00, and at that price, it's a steal. All I've ever wanted from digital art programs is to simulate natural media, but with some extras like layers, and perfect erasing, that digital can easily afford.

This blew me out of the water, it's very easy to learn, and I still haven't "done" anything with it, because I'm still having so much fun trying different brushes and settings.

This is a must have.

I just bought Paintstorm, it's awesome! A bit buggy (froze twice in a hour but got back on track by itself), but overall it's totally worth the price. I really hope it catches on, if only it were a bit more stable it would blow the expensive programs out of the water when it comes to painting functionality.

Thank you for making this amazing painting app!! It's totally worth more than just the $15 I just payed for. It's definitely one of the best painting software, in many ways better than all of them. It might not have the funky G'mic Colorizer of Krita or the advanced image editing tools of Photoshop, but it has a fantastic brush engine with customizable curves and for painting or drawing it's much better than everything I've tried so far. It might even replace TVPaint, which until now, for me, it's been the ONE art tool to rule them all. Basically... because of animated brushes and a powerful, very customizable brush engine. If you could allow your scatter tool to work with color, not just alphas... and maybe if you'd implement some basic flipbook/animation tools... so I can paint on several frames and see the difference between my drawings by flipping [and not via layers of course, layers are still needed for other reasons]... that would be massively EPIC!!

I knew about the software by Instagram. I think you did follow me in instagram and I realized about it. I purchased it immediately, because I believed that this software will have a great future.
Also, it was very cheap. Only 20 dollars for first 1000 artists. You have all the rights of making it commercial project. It's not something easy to waste two years of your life just to build a project. You deserve the money.

Keep it up...

Paintstorm is a fantastic program and I consider it a steal for what you are charging, but you need to reconsider your license verification system.

People like me who are constantly upgrading and fiddling with their system hardware will find your licensing system extremely annoying (having to e-mail you any time I do any kind of hardware change).  When I buy something, I expect to be able to use it, install, re-install, etc. without going through the vendor.  It doesn't give me a very secure feeling (especially for a small one man operation) if you suddenly drop out of sight and I'm stuck with useless software I've come to depend on because it's keyed to my hardware.

If it wasn't for your licensing system, I would have bought your product already, however--it will be "no sale" for me until you find a different way to manage your licensing.
